The Academic Phrasebank is a curated collection of ready-to-use academic phrases and sentence frames organized by rhetorical function (introducing, describing methods, stating results, discussing, concluding, hedging, etc.) from the University of Manchester. It was designed especially for non-native writers as a scaffold for producing academically-appropriate phrasing without “stealing content.” It’s perfect for EAP lessons on academic register, and teaching structure of academic papers.
